Fund Run Excitement

Today, our school officially kicked off a PTA fundraiser to help support needs in our school for things such as new books, projectors and other materials.  Two years ago, collected funds bought new dining room tables which were greatly needed.  We love this event as the folks from FunRunTime do a great job hosting this campaign and setting up the actual run of 30 to 36 laps.  Rally your friends and family and sponsor your child, no matter how big or small and use this opportunity to show children that we all can give back to this wonderful community at CCE.  We all will run on February 27th to show our support!  Will you help us?

Character Education

Each month, Mrs. Jackson, a retired teacher and mom to Mrs. JJ Brown, a K teacher at CCE, comes to visit each K and 1st grade class.  She teaches us, encourages us and helps us find ways to develop strong character traits such as kindness, patience, patriotism, tolerance and even, charity.  When she steps into our classroom, the students immediately lean into her chair and listen with great care.  She reads delightful new stories, shares ways to live out these traits as friends and leaves us with a new book for our library and a lollipop treat.  We love Mrs. Jackson and consider her a dear friend and celebrity!  Thank you, Mrs. Jackson!

100 Day Celebration

Only in Kindergarten can you spend a whole day celebrating one number!  We are 100 days smarter and we certainly had fun!  From centers, stories, poems, games and special snacks, the day was packed with joy over this crazy number.

Readers to Leaders Bingo Reward

Many of our students participated in a Readers to Leaders celebration today.  These students read and logged over 25 books during the 2nd 9 weeks!  Mrs. Phillips, our principal, organized this event to encourage these young readers to read their way to success!  Each student "won" and walked away with a prize and a priceless memory.
